As I mentioned in my previous post that I went up to San Francisco for work a little over a week ago and while I was in town, I stopped by the Camp Campari event hosted by Sunset Magazine and of course Campari America. It was such a lovely day to spend under the sun on the grass at the Log Cabin in Presidio overlooking the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. We got to do activities such as cocktail making, lettering, and shibori dying while sipping on delicious cocktails and munching on yummy bites from Off the Grid. Since the theme of the event was "camp/camping", it was only appropriate that I wore my floral embroidered army jacket by ASTR and my suede combat boots by Hushpuppies! The highlight of the day though was that I got to see many of my SF blogger friends!

A walk down Maiden Lane last week in San Francisco was more of a walk down memory lane for me. While I was in town for work, I stopped by a couple events with one being a cocktail evening at the Christian Louboutin store on Maiden Lane with Christian Louboutin himself. It was so nice to be able to wear slightly more Fall-esque pieces in SF because this heat in LA ain't going nowhere. I wore a cozy longline cardigan by J.Jill, knit cropped top, a pair of windowpane printed pants also by J.Jill, a pair of suede loafers from Chinese Laundry, and a darling pearl embellished handbag by Zac Zac Posen. Keeping things neutral yet fun with some print on print action!

PS. I have partnered up with Chinese Laundry to giveaway a $200 gift card to shop their amazing shoes collection! Go to my Instagram for more info!

I have been living out of a suitcase lately... tiring but keeps me on my toes (literally). Last Sunday I took a last-minute trip up to San Francisco to do some freelance styling work for the company I used to work at. Totally unplanned but it was so nice to see so many familiar faces, it felt like I never left. Hotel Carlton in Nob Hill kindly hosted me in their one and only suite overlooking the city with a view of Sutro Tower. This boutique hotel is just around the corner from the infamous Mr. Holmes Bakehouse and I was so surprised to see a box of their pastries waiting for me in my room! My suite was absolutely beautiful and quirky, I love the fun colors mixed with the black and white (you know I love my black and white). It was a whirlwind but so glad I got to visit the city I once called home.

I just got back from NYC (my 5th time there), it was a whirlwind but it certainly did not disappoint! One of the places I stayed at on this trip was Conrad. This all-suite hotel is quite... I am just going to use the word "cool". Upon entering, you find yourself in this atrium with an intricate linear sculpture suspended above you. Quite the design! We had dinner at Atrio and everything was delicious... from the Manhattan to the skirt steak to the apple tart. After dinner we went up to Loopy Doopy rooftop bar to enjoy yet another cocktail or two while overlooking the Hudson River and the New Jersey skyline. Woke up the next day on 9/11 and conveniently World Trade Center is just a couple of blocks away, it was a bit surreal to be there on this day. In general, it's always surreal to be in New York. It just feels so right. Thank you Conrad for hosting us!

There are plenty of collaborations out there but what I am most excited about this season is the INC International Concepts collaboration with designer Anna Sui. Think really classic pieces with a twist and touch of flirtiness and quirkiness that is Anna Sui! The entire collection is amazing but here I am rocking my favorite pieces... A classic white tee with voluminous ruffled sleeves, black skinny jeans, white booties, fringed bag, and this showstopping studded and floral embroidered leather jacket. Yes, it's been a really hot week here in Los Angeles (September in California is a killer) but that didn't stop me from rocking these pieces out and about!

Reality doesn't always meet your expectations. It's been seven weeks since I moved to Los Angeles and to be honest, it hasn't been easy. In fact, it's been really tough. I understand that adjusting to a new city and new lifestyle takes time and cannot be rushed but I can't help that I want to find that sense of belonging and that feeling of familiarity. To those who have experienced this, how did you cope with it? One thing I am trying to do is to "stop and smell the roses" and recognize all the little things that do actually matter. This saying is very helpful and definitely help me stay grounded. Focus on and appreciate the positives like all the beautiful places Los Angeles have to offer. Couple of days ago we decided to take a detour to Pasadena and stumbled upon the charming city hall. The building itself is gorgeous and it reminds me a little of France with its cute courtyard and fountain. Coincidentally I wore a pink flowy high-low dress by Selfie Leslie from PacSun with roses and ruffles and it was simply picture perfect. Life isn't always rainbows and unicorns, you just gotta look at the bright side and be grateful for the little things.
