I have to admit... carrying a backpack makes me feel self-conscious. I already look much younger than I am and with a backpack my age is reduced by another ten years. Also, I commute everyday and having a bag behind me versus next to me makes me quite paranoid about pickpocketers. I guess I am not too fond of backpacks but how do you say no when you come across one as cool as this? When I locked eyes with this stunning genuine leather and rabbit fur backpack by Foley+Corinna, I knew it was love at first sight. I paired it with a black and white striped turtleneck, an oatmeal Madewell cardigan, high waisted skinny jeans, and Madewell d'Orsay leather loafers. Now I get to be the coolest kid in town!

It's chilly over here! Today felt especially cold, perhaps the clouds cleared up after a week of rain. Doubling my knits because how else do you stay warm? I am actually loving the layering a turtleneck underneath a crewneck look! It's a fresher take on the collared shirt underneath a sweater combo. I absolutely adore this speckled cashmere crewneck sweater by Everlane. The blush color is dreamy and it is so soft! I threw on this lovely trench coat by Cupcakes & Cashmere in the same blush palette, a pair of acid wash denim, and the infamous modern loafers by Everlane. Speaking of Everlane, did you know they just launched a private instagram account @everlanestudio where you can get early access to shoes and exclusive sneak peeks? It's pretty awesome!

One of the reasons I enjoy Farmhouse Inn so much may or may not be the two kitty cats on the property. Yes, you heard that right. There are two cats living there. As a crazy cat lady, this is basically vacation paradise for me. No, I am not joking. There is Charlotte, a black cat, and she is actually on the Farmhouse Inn mug (as seen in my previous post). She is beautiful but I kept catching her at night so I couldn't get a good photo. Henry, on the other hand, is a super friendly orange tabby that loves hanging out with people! Apparently, also not camera shy! He is so sweet and even let me hold him, as if he remembers me from my first trip (at least I like to think so)...

Back in November, I had the pleasure of staying at Farmhouse Inn up in the Russian River Valley in Sonoma with a magazine team and some fellow influencers. My stay was so wonderful that I decided to return on New Year's Eve with my fiancĂ©. In my previous post, I focused mostly on my beautiful room and my overall experience. This time, however, I would like to share with you all the little things that truly make Farmhouse Inn a home away from home. Bath bar, s'mores, turn down, and a 3-course breakfast are all included in every stay. There is a lovely spa, swimming pool, and jacuzzi on the property but in case you can't get enough, you can bring the relaxation back to your room with their self-served bath bar. Think seasonal scrubs, salts, milk bath, and handmade soaps! Housemade marshmallows, chocolate, and crunchy grahams are also available for making s’mores around the firepit! And if that doesn't satisfy your sweet tooth, then the nightly turn down service with homemade cookies and milk sure will (the cookies are oh-so-delicious by the way)! Lastly, a 3-course breakfast awaits you in the morning after a good night sleep. The brioche french toast was my favorite! Farmhouse Inn has easily become my #1 staycation spot, you really do get the best of both worlds here - the aesthetic/decor and the service. Needless to say, we couldn't think of a better place to ring in the new year!

Wow has it really been two weeks since we rang in the new year? January is half way through but I am still setting goals for 2016, for myself and for my relationship, while being mindful about it all. As far as fashion goes, I don't have anything specific in mind. I am usually pretty adventurous when it comes to fashion even though I have been playing it safe with all my neutrals lately. I guess one thing I will try to do this year is to be more confident. Not everything looks good on me but being confident can really make a difference! Like overalls! I love them but I think they make me look stumpy. But whatever! I will wear them and make them work! I styled them with a cute flannel, a lovely shearling trimmed Coach bag, and a pair of glitter oxfords which definitely helped jazz up the look!
