On the last day of my whirlwind Germany trip, I decided to stay behind a few hours and venture out to Munich on my own to explore. I figured if I was flying all that way, I might as well make the most out of it, right? My driver dropped me off in the middle of the city, and with my google map (on my iphone) in hands, I was ready to run around town for the next 4 hours... and my oh my I sure did! Frauenkirche, Marienplatz, St. Michael's, Hofgarten, HofbrÀuhaus, etc. I even climbed up the bell tower of St. Peter's (Munich's oldest church) for a breathtaking view of Munich. It was definitely worth the 308-step climb! And yes, of course I had to enjoy a refreshing glass of beer with my lunch! Munich was beautiful, it was so amazing to be back on European soil after 6 years and I can't wait to go back soon, hopefully later this year.
