We were greeted by a welcoming wine, 2013 Russian River Chard (a blend of three property sites all in the Russian River Valley), upon sitting down at a gorgeous marble table with a beautiful view of the vineyards. We then tasted 3 other chardonnay - 2013 Sangiacomo Chard (sourced from the Sangiacomo family in Carneros), 2013 Dutton Chard (sourced from the Dutton family in Russian River Valley), and 2013 Wildcat Chard (Steve MacRostie’s own personal vineyard in the rolling mountain side of Carneros). Lunch was deliciously fresh! A bed of mixed field greens with cherry tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, croutons and golden balsamic vinaigrette topped with herb & lemon grilled chicken with a side salad of bulgur wheat, parsley, tomatoes, green onions, cucumbers, herbs, lemon juice, olive oil. Served with lunch was a 2013 Russian River blend Pinot Noir.
Each wine was unique and delightful but we left with a bottle of the 2013 Sangiacomo Chard because we both love that one the most! Thank you MacRostie Winery & Vineyards for having us! It was definitely a lovely way to spend the last afternoon of 2015!
