Local Travel: Sausalito

Holiday weekends might be great for traveling, but since that extra dose of traffic is inevitable we tend to explore locally. Often times, a gem of a town is less than an hour away... take Sausalito for example! We visited this quaint little town across the Golden Gate Bridge the day after July Fourth. Although it was jam-packed with people, the weather was absolutely glorious with a clear view of the San Francisco skyline. We spent the afternoon eating, shopping and strolling along the waterfront. On our way home, we took a scenic detour through Marine Headlands. Suddenly all the tourists disappeared, the fog rolled in, and I felt like I was in a dream. The endless fields and windy roads were just breathtaking (we even spotted a beautiful bobcat)! On a different note, I like to dress down when I am out and about all day. A semi sheer oversized button-up paired with cute gingham pants (love how the subtle windowpane print matches the gingham), comfy espadrilles, and a structured satchel make the perfect travel uniform!
