This outfit is slightly unusual for me because I don't wear many blues and I never wear plaid or checker, but I kind of like it. It's like dressing girly without being girly. I paired a simple checkered dress with a cable knit sweater in the loveliest shade blue, wool felt hat and two tone booties both by Sole Society (if you are looking for a good hat for fall, this is it!), and my Phillip Lim x Target mini satchel which I bought from a 4-hour online battle the early morning the collection went live online. Oh, and I painted my nails black for a change and perhaps I am also ready for Halloween!

Nothing makes me happier than a good mix of prints and colors! Why dress boring when you can have fun? Leopard print is on fire this fall, if you don't already know. Besides the "traditional" neutral leopard print, you are going to see leopard print in all sort of colors and styles just like the one I am wearing here. This silk blouse by Julie Brown is so bold and stunning! I embrace it by bringing out the colors with different parts of my outfit... mustard cocoon sweater, berry pants, and red lips and nails. I must say this is my ultimate transitional outfit with a splash of colors from summer and cozy layering for fall.

Who knew blush and red would look so good together? I have had this intricately embroidered blazer from Zara for some time but have yet found the perfect outfit for it until now. The blush and red of this colorblock dress brings out the details of the blazer, they definitely compliment each other. I love mixing patterns so of course I would pair the blazer with a giraffe print calfhair clutch by Lauren Merkin. I finished the look with these simple yet chic red heels (totally digging anything with a thick ankle strap these days) and one of the most incredible pieces of jewelry I own gifted by Joomi Lim. This rose gold spikes and crystals necklace is everything! It is edgy, it is feminine, it is rose gold (which is huge this fall by the way), it is absolutely perfect.

Hello fall, hello new shop! After a 4 year hiatus, I recently decided to pick up the paint brush again and start a new side project... Oh My Dearest.

Before I found my passion in fashion, my passion was art. As a five year old, I was more into drawing bunnies and making birthday cards for everyone than worrying about what I wore. I began developing my art skill at a really young age and grew up practicing it. I even attended my high school solely because the art teacher whom is now retired was highly regarded. My four years of high school was very rewarding where I developed all the skills I needed (examples of some of my really early work here, here, and here) and made great accomplishment such as winning awards/scholarship and even landed an article in a local newspaper. Even though I received a pretty decent scholarship to CCA (California College of the Arts), I decided to attend UC Berkeley instead. If you get into Cal, it would be stupid not to go, or at least that was my mentality at the time. At Berkeley, I tried out different media like printmaking, metal works, sculpture, ceramics, but I ended up with what I know best... oil painting. I painted in large scale, canvases that are bigger than me and I was spoiled with spacious studio space and storage areas. Once graduated, I completely stopped making art. If you are familiar with oil, you know that it needs to be well ventilated and discarded properly. Not to mention it also takes weeks to dry, definitely not ideal when living in a small apartment with two cats!

It's been a real long time since I have painted something "real" (here's one of my final paintings from Berkeley). My artistic urge has kicked in and I needed to find a creative outlet, so this is where Oh My Dearest comes in. I decided to play with colors and patterns just like I do with my clothes and create little abstract paintings. Each piece is paired with a gold/silver/bronze frame and would look nice either hung on the wall or set on a desk. They are just supposed to be fun and stylish, nothing serious. Oh My Dearest just opened today, please check it out and I hope you like what you see!

Happy Friday everyone! Just me twirling around in a golden flower crown during golden hour. I love this denim pinafore dress from Choies, it has the perfect length and fits me like a dream. The adjustable straps on the sides are amazing too. I kept it casual and slipped on my new leopard print loafers by Loly in the Sky. Loly in the Sky seriously has the comfiest and cutest flats, so many styles to choose from there's ought to be something for everyone! When it comes to overalls and pinafores I think of something youthful and playful, so I finished the look with a flower crown I made. Yes, I am back at making flower crowns again, this time in pretty autumnal colors!

Buying a new pair of shoes might be exciting, but there is something really special about buying fresh flowers for the table every week! This color-rich flower is called Celosia and I love how they look like firecracker, rock candy, and feather all in one! Every week when I head down to the farmer's markets to check out the beautiful blooms, I always remember to ask the florist a little bit about them. Oh, and I thought these flowers are perfect for my wood block test tubes bud vases from Lynette's Art! Aren't they so much fun?

If you follow my instagram, you probably saw this awesome painted clutch last week. It is one of the best thing ever and really special to me because I myself am a painter. I studied art (oil painting focus) at UC Berkeley but haven't painted anything since graduation due to the lack of studio space. Painting with oil needs good ventilation and takes weeks to dry, definitely not a good idea especially with two cats running around! Yesterday, however, I picked up the paintbrush for the first time in 4 years for a new project which will soon be revealed. It reminded me how much I miss it! Sorry I got a little carried away, now back to the outfit...

I wanted to create a fun look by bringing out the amazing colors seen on this clutch by My A La Mode. I chose a lovely vintage cable knit crop tank from Vintage Scandal, just like you would with a painting by starting with a white canvas. I paired it with these chic and comfy high waisted silk shorts by Yumi Kim, matching fuchsia lips, and sparkling glittery heels!
